I have worked with children, young people and families since 1993. Over that time I have found that children respond to being given a space to work through feelings using creative mediums: art materials, drama, stories and playing, as well as by talking to someone. This is an integrative way of working.

Through using creative mediums children have the opportunity to conceptualise inner processes outside of themselves which allows the feelings to be seen and felt safely and so begin to be integrated by the child with the help of the therapist.

‘Integrative’ also means that I have been trained to think using many different psychological and human development theories. To see the specifics of my trainings see The Sesame institute and Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education links.
